Elastic Stainless Steel Ink Spatula
Paints/Inks/Coatings/Pigments
* 2025 style is newly upgraded
* The new style maintains elasticity while taking into account a certain hardness, which is more suitable for shoveling ink.
* The feel and workmanship are very similar to imported ITOH.

* The new models are all ground with 1.2mm thick steel plates.
* The blade is ground from thick to thin repeatedly at an angle, and finally the blade has a gradual thickness.

The thickness of the blade tip varies with different specifications:
* The blade tip of 45# small and 60# medium is about 0.4mm.
* The blade tip of 75# large is about 0.5mm.
* The blade tip of 90# extra large is about 0.6mm.
* There is a deviation of plus or minus 0.1mm.
* The front end of the blade is thin: elastic, thin and flexible, and the scraping is clean.
* The root of the blade is thick: high hardness and does not deform, even if a lot of ink is scraped, it is not easy to deform.
# Note that the new model is more elastic towards the front end of the knife, and the root of tthe knife is harder than the old model.
* One-piece blade, running through the inside of the handle.
* Solid wood handle.
* Steel nail riveted.
* The ink mixing shovel is made of a whole steel plate.
* There are no other openings on the handle except the necessary openings.
* The handle is more sturdy and durable.

Product FAQ|Frequently Asked Questions
About the feel! Why is there a difference in softness and hardness of the same knife?
The elastic scrapers on the market are all grinded at an angle using a water-grinding process, similar to the water-grinding of kitchen knives with knife stones in the past. It is a traditional old process and is not very precise.
The main reason is the loss of grinding wheels in batch grinding, that is, the grinding wheel will be worn after processing a certain number of blades, and the thickness of the subsequent processing of the same batch will inevitably be slightly thicker, and the thickness will affect the soft and hard feel.
This is unavoidable with the existing technology and exists in all brands.
Uneven surface|Why is the surface of the blade uneven?
It is related to the oblique grinding. In order to achieve the elastic effect, the front end of the blade needs to be grind very thinly. After repeatedly grinding the blade at different angles, there must be oblique grinding marks on the surface after grinding, especially at the starting point of grinding, there will be obvious collapse arc.
This mark is the inevitable process residue of the elastic product and does not affect the service life of the product.
About stainless steel! Is it stainless steel? Will it rust?
The blade is made of martensitic stainless steel 420J2 (national standard 30CR13, note that it is magnetic), and its corrosion resistance can fully meet the basic needs of the chemical industry.
However, different materials have different acidity and alkalinity. If the blade is soaked in the material or a long time, or left dirty and unclean, it may still rust.
It is recommended to clean it in time after use, wipe it dry and store it in a dry place.
Purchasing instructions
1. The blade can be naturally restored after bending to a certain angle, but it will still deform if it is bent beyond the cutting range.
2. In order to be smoother, the back of the blade is fully hand-polished, and there are arcs and edges at the corners of the shovel, and the consistency is not high.
3. It is difficult to hit the rivet holes 100% in the center in batch production, and some handles may be misaligned.
